Rule 7 – Risk of Collision
Every vessel shall use all available means appropriate to the prevailing circumstances and conditions to determine if the risk of collision exists.
If there is any doubt such risk shall be deemed to exist.
- If you have radar you’ll use it properly to this end.
- Lack of information is not to be the basis for assumptions.
- The risk of collision exists can exist if the direction of an approaching vessel does or doesn’t change
